Hundreds of small onsen-supply utilities across rural Japan share the same struggles: soaring electricity costs, shrinking subscribers, paper contracts, and manual billing. Yumusubi turns them into community-supported utilities that last — with online contracts, photo-based meter reading, automated billing, co-op accounting, and CO2-credit support.
We are working with the local supplier and residents to move ~50 households to a fair "base fee + metered usage" model, and to reuse waste bath heat for home heating — cutting kerosene use and CO2.
